This linen costume of a design dating to the late 15th Century is particularly impressive due to its 25 cm silk braid along the hem. The hem has a circumference of 400 cm.
Six folds at the back of the dress lead into a wide train. The bright inserts at the front and the sleeves in white make it appear like 2 costumes. The 100 cm wide trumpet sleeves are extra long, and have been laid in folds at the lower arm in order to provide flexibility of movement.
The neckline and upper sleeves have been accentuated with a beautiful braid which has also been used for the belt, together with a gold-coloured tassel. The belt is 2 meters long, and should be worn just underneath the bust.
The costume is made of linen and silk; hand wash at 30 C, iron at low setting.
The silk braid is available in red-black-gold and black-green-gold. |
